Filipino History Video Project #1: Emilio Aguinaldo and the Philippine-American War of 1898

This project will use youtube videos posted by other Filipinos and Filipino Americans. This project is dedicated to centralizing their showcase. Any help or suggestion from you is welcome.

  1. The video clip purportedly showing Filipino soldiers in their trench firing at American troops is a hoax. If you observe closely, these “Filipino soldiers” were actually black Americans who were probably reenacting a battle for the camera.

    Compared with actual photographs taken of dead Filipino soldiers lying on their trenches, the trench used in the video clip was deeper. The Filipino soldiers in the actual photographs were also smaller and leaner than those shown in the video clip.

    Let us be accurate in our representation of our brave and patriotic Filipino soldiers in the Philippine-American war.
